Christina School District to hold town hall meetings on “priority schools”

christinaSix Wilmington schools, including 3 in Christina School District, are at risk to Governor Markell’s Priority Schools plan.

The Priority Schools are: Christina School District’s Bancroft Elementary, Bayard Middle and Stubbs Elementary schools; and Red Clay Consolidated School District’s Warner Elementary, Shortlidge Academy and Highlands Elementary schools. All are located in Wilmington.

Christina School District Plans Meetings on “Priority Schools”

Priority Schools Update Meetings with the Superintendent begin October 27; two Legislative Coffee meetings scheduled for November 10 and 12

The Christina School District  has scheduled four Priority Schools Update Meetings with the Superintendent and two Legislative Coffee meetings to increase dialogue on plans for the District’s three “Priority” schools. The meetings are scheduled at Bancroft Elementary School, Stubbs Elementary School, Bayard Middle School, and Newark High School on various dates in October, November, and December. A full list of meetings is included below.
In addition, a scope and framework meeting will be held on Thursday, October 16, at the District’s Drew Educational Support Center for District staff, school leaders, teachers, and Christina Education Association representatives who will be involved with the Priority Schools Design Teams. Several parents representing the Priority schools have also been invited.
A meeting to initiate discussions with the Delaware Department of Education has been scheduled for Friday, October 17 at the District’s Drew Educational Support Center. District administrative staff, school principals, and Christina Education Association representatives will discuss the framework and process Christina will use in developing the MOU and Priority Schools plans.

The Christina School District has scheduled the following “Town Hall” style meetings with the Superintendent to provide opportunities for all members of the public to engage in dialogue about the Priority Schools.

LEGISLATIVE COFFEE MEETINGS WITH THE SUPERINTENDENT

The Christina School District has scheduled the following Legislative Coffee meetings with the Superintendent to engage elected officials in all areas of the District in dialogue about the Priority Schools.
